Buganda kingdom premier has publicly told the Inspector General of police Gen Kale Kayihura that he can no longer enjoy his comfortable vehicle because he’s scared for his life.
Mayiga who was addressing mourners on Sunday evening at St Andrea Kigowa Catholic parish said, “I am very scared. I turn in my car.”
Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga told mourners that the tragic death of Kaweesi who the IGP had appointed as the liaison between them, has raised his fears over his life.
Mayiga made a compelling case for peaceful coexistence and respect among advisories, making a case for dialogue ahead of violence.
“Uganda has many problems. We have insecurity problems. Political problems. Societal problems like poverty, diseases, joblessness, etc
But we cannot remove these problems by killing each other.
The medicine is to sit down and dialogue with those we don’t agree with,” said Mayiga.
“Respect your adversaries,” he said wondering what made anyone kill another at 43 years.
Kaweesi’s guardian Vincentio Musubire, who spoke on behalf relatives said, Kaweesi was a listener, who he had taught the virtues of respect for God as well as taking personal interests and those of his family seriously as well as being conscious of the common good.
