December is supposed to be a month to party. And lovers of soukous were gearing up for just that  until organisers of the Fally Ipupa Live in concert broke the bad news.

The show has been cancelled after the soukous star missed his flight to Kampala.

The Congolese singer was set to headline a show at the Lugogo Cricket Oval tonight, December 13, and later on in Arua at the Green Light Stadium, on Sunday, 15th December.

According to 243 Events, the organizers of this show, the 41-year-old lingala singer missed his flight to Uganda and efforts to have him in Kampala on time were in vain.

“Fally Ipupa is NOT going to be in position to perform in Kampala tonight, 13th December 2019, regrettably. The artiste missed his scheduled flight to Kampala and efforts are being made for him to arrive in time for the Sunday show, 15th December 2019 scheduled Arua concert,” reads the public notice.

The Arua show is also still hanging in balance and organizers promised to keep the public updated in case there is another change in plans.

Popularly known in Uganda for songs such as Service, Anissa, Kiname among others, Ipupa is a Congolese singer-songwriter, dance, philanthropist, guitarist and producer who started his career back in 1999 as a member of Quartier Latin International and has from then on moved to become one of the biggest francophone star of this generation.
