After months of losses and debts, singer Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone has finally accepted that his DNA Lounge has been a bad business that made him no profits.
Despite the massive publicity and branding, the ‘wale wale’ singer said that this business has been making constant losses, thus forcing him to put it on sale.
According to sources, DNA Lounge had spent over three months closed due to rent arrears and operational taxes.
During an interview on nbs’s Uncut on Thursday, the singer revealed that he used to inject a lot of money in that business, but it was actually not giving him a milestone as he had anticipated.
“I rest the DNA Lounge business, as a person I found out that it was not one of those businesses that suit my style. If there is a rich person interested in the bar, he can table his stake and we talk so that he takes over and I go do something else,” he said.
This Kololo based night hangout was opened in December 2018, but it did not even last a year before following the genesis of others like, Amnesia, De Posh Kabalagala, Club Silk, Big Mikes among other who signed for bankruptcy.
Recently, during the official closer of Amnesia, Dr Innocent Nahabwe one of the co-founders of the club noted that bar business is phasing out because people’s drinking habits have changed, he claimed that most people now prefer to drink at home, and the bar business is slowly losing its customers.
