‘It’s like he wanted to put the envelope in her jeans’, Ugandans react to VP Ssekandi- Masanyalaze video

A very simple question, yet one that could easily be failed is probably ‘Who is the Vice President of Uganda?’

Why? How often do you hear of Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi?

He goes about his business, which has lately been to represent President Museveni at burial ceremonies, without attracting too much attention.

And when he does attract attention, it’s for the fun of it. Take for example a video that surfaced last month of the VP pulling off rare dance strokes at a kwanjula (we think). That had Ugandans laughing for weeks on.

Now a new video is making rounds on twitter of the VP being entertained by faded songstress Phina Mugerwa aka Masanyalaze.

Masanyalaze’s claim to fame was her ability to gyrate her tiny body. And that is exactly what she did only a few inches from a seemingly spell bound Ssekandi.

In the video, shot during International Youth Day celebrations at St. Gonzaga Gonza Primary School Kagoma in Jinja, Ssekandi is seen contemplating whether to join the gyrating pencil sized Masanyalaze, much to the amusement of fellow guests including Speaker Rebecca Kadaga.

Before she approached Ssekandi, who is seen sitting ‘open legged’, Masanyalaze first wowed Speaker Kadaga before she was directed to Uganda’s number two most important person.

And for 45-seconds, Ssekandi makes as if to move from his chair, before thinking twice, then thrice then for the umpteenth time and eventually handing her an envelope with Shs3,000.

First posted by @PirateMulwana, with the caption “Ladies and Gentlemen, behold the Vice President of the Republic of Uganda” on Tuesday, the video has since been viewed over 3000 times. Also, the comments that accompany the video are to die for.

Here are a few:

Busherapapi @omuutiti:  Its like he wanted to put the envelope in her jeans but he thought twice

Enoch Cohen kabuye: I always forget we even have one!

Onlysadat @dathadrack: U can’t know if his smiling o crying… He always looks the same

Glory Williams @GloryWi80879455: his hands are itching…he needs to touch

Brian Mutangana@brianmutangana: Behold indeed he can’t do anything else apart from smiling oba why does God give meat to the toothless dogs.
