Julius James Baker Ssembuusi Zulanda or commonly known as Zulanda is 27-year-old singer/song writer. A Christian, Zulanda was born and raised in a humble family of nine siblings – four boys and five girls – in Masaka town before migrating to Kawempe, Kampala in 1997.

As an artiste, Zulanda is popular for his songs like Mukwano gwo, My Car, Over the bar among other, and he is regarded as a full packaged artiste for he can sing, write music, play instruments and also do production.

Zulanda is an excellent song writer and has been behind many hit songs like He go down, Love letter, Nkubukinze by Irene Ntale, Embeera by Winnie Nwagi , Ensowera by Barbaritah, Ensonga  by Allan Tonix, Tugubunye by Weasel among others.

He went to Blessed Sacrament Primary School, Kimaanya for his primary education, joined St Joseph’s SS Naggalama for O’Level, and later Kisubi High School for his A’Level.

He later enrolled at Kampala University for a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Computing in 2011.

Zulanda joined the music industry as Swangz Avenue’s song writer in 2009, but he also wrote songs for other artistes like Irene Namubiru, Lillian Mbabazi, Jackie Chandiru, Leilah Kayonda among others. Slowly he also started singing, as he released his singles like Long Kick, Yiita Waiter among others

Zulanda also writes and voices commercial adverts like Ann Kansiime’s Gotv advert, Snow Paint advert among others, he claims to have earned priceless things in the music business like fans, friends and connections.

Besides music, Zulanda is also a farmers and deals in Eucalyptus (Kalitunsi) tree planting and coffee growing in Masaka , he is soon venturing in Clothing as he will be launching ‘Zuwear’ clothing line in due time.

Zulanda is still single, has no children and rarely gets mad, but the only thing that pisses him off is when someone messes with his family. His favorite dish is G.Nuts (Luwombo) and Matooke.

He loves reading, sleeping, watching sports, playing Rugby, and he has professionally played with Pirates Rugby Club.

If he wasn’t a musician, Zulanda says that he would be a sports person.
