Once a big socialite and big money spender, Suleiman Kabangala alias SK Mbuga has lost all chances of returning home after the Ugandan government gave up on him.
In October, the Minister of External Affairs Sam Kuteesa was in negotiations with United Arab Emirates were SK Mbuga is jailed in a Dubai prison, to have him brought back to Uganda.
However, the Minister has publically announced that they have done everything possible to rescue Mbuga, and at least have him jailed in Uganda.
“We tried but have now given up. The charges against Mbuga are very serious and he is wanted by many countries for the same case. What we can do for him is only to help out his family in case they want to go to Dubai and visit him in jail,” said Kuteesa.
Earlier this year, Mbuga was arrested in Dubai for allegedly defrauding a business man of Shs937 million through a fake gold deal.
He is also wanted in Sweden for alleged fraudulent transfer of Norwegian Kronor 53m (Shs23b) from an account his wife Vivienne Chebet was running with her 71-year old Swedish boyfriend, Mr Sten Heinsoo.
