By Allen Kisakye

Ten years ago, musician Edrias Musuuza alias Eddy Kenzo released Yanimba with Mickie Wine. A relative success then, Kenzo did not give up, releasing a few songs here and there before we started noticing with the Stamina.

The song took the country by storm, with politicians taking on the word as a campaign slogan.

Then he released Sitya Loss in 2014. This did not only make him a local star but his talent became recognized world over. The song received massive airplay and was covered internationally.

And even though, many people complain that they can barely comprehend his lyrics and style, he still gets to feel up stadiums in Mali and other strange countries. He has also won more awards than all other local artistes combined such as 2015 BET award as the Best International Artist and other continental awards like Afrima, Nickelodeon Kids Choice.

It seems like yesterday, but Kenzo has been in the business for almost a decade. An achievement worth celebrating. On January 4, 2019, the musician is set to mark the milestone with a concert at Kampala Serena Hotel.

The concert follows the success of his latest released album dubbed ‘Roots’.

According to Kenzo, the journey has not been easy but he is so thankful to Allah for everything he has gone through ‘good or bad’.
