Ladies have many solutions to fix their beauty problems; for example some use foundation to cover dark spots on the face, wigs to cover poor quality hair, nail polish to fix dull nails among others.

But the problem with nail polish is when one over uses it, it makes the dull nails’ problem even worse.

Now if you want to keep away from nail polish but afraid of the dull color on your nails, here are some of the simple procedures you can follow to attain a white and shiny look back on your nails.

Lemon Juice

Lemon is a natural bleaching agent, and this helps to remove stains or dirt which makes nails to appear dull. Soak nails in lemon juice for some time and for better results, you can add some drops of vinegar and warm water to the lemon juice for excellent results, brush your nails with a tooth brush while keeping them soaked in the mixture.

You can try this procedure for a week or more depending on how dull your nails looked.

Olive oil

Mix a reasonable amount of Olive oil in warm water, soak the nails in that mixture for some minutes. Continue massaging your nails with a tooth brush while the nails are still soaked. This helps to remove substances that make nails dull.

Follow the procedure daily to obtain a shine back on the nails.

Petroleum Jelly

Petroleum jelly prevents nails from losing its natural moisture thus making it easy for them to have a shiny look all through. Simply massage your nails with jelly especially after taking a shower or washing, that coat of jelly on your nails will guarantee a natural shinny look and you will not need nail polish again.

Cucumber

Cut a slice of cucumber and massage it on your nails for about 5-10 minutes for better results. Just like it does with the eyes, Cucumber has a whiting agent that will leave your nails shinning.

Water

Water has many beauty and health benefits to the body and nail whitening is one of them. Drinking water helps to keep your enter body moisturized, nails inclusive. And constant washing of the nails with water helps to wash away the dull layer on nails thus leaving them shinny and bright.

Baby oil

One of the factors that makes our nails dull is dryness and lack of moisture, so this baby oil helps to lock in the moisture in the nails to prevent them from drying thus helping nails to obtain their natural shinny look.

Always apply baby oil on your nails especially after washing or bathing to prevent your nails from drying.

Coconut oil

Rich in healthy fats and other essential nutrients, coconut oil offers enormous benefits for your skin, hair and nails. It not only makes your nails shinier, but also prevents them from fungal infection. So, pour a few drops of Coconut oil on your nail and give them a gentle massage for some time. You can follow this process twice a day to get the best results.

NOTE: If your dull nail problem is genetic, don’t bother trying out any of the above procedures for they will not work.
