Police Detectives at the Criminal Investigations Directorate headquarters have confirmed the arrest of controversial blogger, Isma Tusubira aka Isma Olaxess or Jajja Iculi.

He has been charged with offensive communication and criminal libel.

“Detectives at CID hqtrs @PoliceUg have this morning 4th Oct.2021 arrested Isma Olaxes aka Isma Kalevu and Charged him to Court for Offensive Communication and Criminal Libel,” CID Spokesperson Charles Twiine tweeted on Monday.

Isma now joins Next Media Services journalists Isaac Kawalya Ssemulondo alias Kays, Brian Kennedy Waako and Williams Mako who who are being accused of offensive communication and criminal libel against singer Os  Omulangira Suna. The three journalists were on Friday remanded to Kitalya Prison until 15th October, 2021.

Over the weekend, Os Suna mounted hunt for Isma before placing a Shs1m reward for whoever had information leading to the blogger’s arrest.

“I have a reference from CID directing me to arrest Isma wherever I find him. Whoever finds Isma Olaxess a.k.a Jajja Ichuli, I will give you 1m and if I don’t give it to you, you can arrest me,” Os Suna said in a social media video.

The accuser Suna claims that during the Morning Express show on Sanyuka TV, the trio, in company of Isma Olaxess, offended him with baseless accusations.
