Kampala, 24th July 2024: Ugandans using Airtel Money, Uganda’s most affordable and secure financial service, have an opportunity to walk away with prizes including a new Toyota RAV 4 Hybrid sports utility vehicle (SUV), motorbikes and e-money, following the launch of a new customer rewards campaign by Airtel Mobile Commerce Uganda, the provider of Airtel’s digital financial services.

The three months campaign dubbed Vroomula Amajja which was launched today in Kampala, will run for 13 weeks, giving Airtel Money customers, agents, and businesses using Airtel Pay merchant codes the opportunity to win the prizes at stake. By simply carrying out any Airtel Money transaction, a customer automatically enters into daily, weekly and monthly draws to win.

Japhet Aritho, Managing Director, Airtel Mobile Commerce Uganda, while launching the campaign said, “Today, we’re igniting a movement that will turn every transaction into an opportunity, every shilling into a stepping stone towards your dreams. I am thrilled to announce the launch of VROOMULA AMAJJA – Airtel Money’s groundbreaking nationwide campaign that will redefine the landscape of cashless transactions in Uganda.”

“Through VROOMULA AMAJJA, we’re not just changing how Ugandans transact; we’re changing lives. We’re fueling dreams, powering ambitions, and driving the nation towards a cashless future where every transaction opens a world of possibilities,” Aritho added.

Furthermore, the new campaign aims to enhance digital financial services by incentivizing customers to go cashless through daily, weekly and monthly rewards, in the form of e-money which will be directly deposited into their wallets.

“45 Ugandans, every single day, will receive a cash boost directly into their Airtel Money wallets. That’s 45 families with extra money for school fees, supporting a small business, or settling other financial obligations. Additionally, 9 Ugandans every week, will ride away new Boda Bodas (motorbikes). That’s 9 families with a chance to benefit from a sustainable source of income from a Boda Boda business.”

“And for one fortunate Ugandan, the grand prize awaits – a Toyota RAV 4 Hybrid car. A testament to how far life can change, when you embrace the power of digital transactions,” he concluded.

To participated in the campaign, customers can dial *185# or transacting using My Airtel App to send money, deposit or withdraw cash, do mobile banking, bill pays, use Airtel Money pay, do international money transfers or buy airtime. By so doing, customers and Airtel Money agents, will stand a chance to enter the draw to win the daily/monthly prizes. Money will be paid to the customer’s Airtel Money accounts. The only verified Airtel number that will call winners is 0200100100.
