Singer Jackie Chandiru running mad, on suicide watch

All is not well for former Blu3 singer Jackie Chandiru; she needs immediate help if she is to stay breathing.

Reliable information we have received on our news desk indicates that Chandiru is in a very bad shape over drug abuse and that she has been hospitalized at Naguru Hospital Surgical Ward 4 for the past two months.

“She’s being treated for substance abuse. Somehow some young girls smuggle in the drug for her and the nurses are tired of her. Every time she abuses drugs she defecates on herself,” a source which preferred anonymity said.

“She takes her drugs in the bathroom or washrooms. She walks naked in the ward and she sleeps on a bare mattress, no beddings and since she got no attendant.”

To make matters worse, the singer’s veins are allegedly damaged whereby she cannot even pass an intravenous (IV) injection; she takes medication orally.

Starting doing drugs:

Blu*3 was an all-girl singing trio (Chandiru, Cindy Sanyu and Lilian Mbabazi) that gained fame in 2003 after winning the Coca Cola PopStar talent search contest.

Their first recorded song ‘Frisky’ and later on ‘Hitaji’ opened doors to fame and other hits such as ‘Nsanyuka Nawe’, ‘Burn’, ‘Tomalaako’, ‘Nkoye’ among others.

But later in 2008, the group broke up when Cindy left to take on a solo career.

The rest also went solo with Chandiru’s vocal power helping her out club bangers such as ‘Gold Digger’, ‘Wotuuse’, ‘Young Again’, among others.

The fame that came with being a solo artiste, it is believed, led Chandiru into taking drugs, although she said these were prescriptive.

Around 2016, she was checked into rehab, and with the help of friends and family, Chandiru managed to ‘get off the ground and walk again.’

However, a few months back she again picked her old habits of abusing the substance. The latest relapse is said to be taking its toll on her and those who know her.
