Jose Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone has laughed back at people who think that he will run back to NRM, after his mission with Democratic Party (DP) is done.
Ever since Chameleone joined Uganda’s oldest Political Party, several politicians such as Betty Nambooze, and the public have put a question on his political intentions, claiming that the singer might be a mole, sent by President Yoweri Museveni to spy the opposition.
But during a presser at DP head office on Tuesday, the singer said that some politicians are just scared of competition that’s why they are labeling him a ‘mole’, he also claimed that he made a decision to settle in DP, and will never look back.
“DP is my grandparent’s party, I am not going to leave this party till I die, am also tired of changing from one party to another so this is my last time. I have heard people saying that Chameleone is going to change and go back to NRM, Please, don’t focus on my name but what comes out of me,” he said.
The mateeka singer who recently expressed his interest to stand for Kampala Lord Mayor seat also noted that he supports the ‘People Power’ ideology, and believes that Museveni and his regime should leave power for the youths.
“If we are changing Museveni’s dictatorial regime, we also need to change everything that he brought with him. President Museveni has killed people’s hopes and dreams, he works with useless people who also need to be rooted out of the government.”
Chameleone over the weekend met with his fellow singer Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, who advised him that only his actions will prove to people that he isn’t a mole as rumors allege.
“I assured him that it is only his actions that will clear him. I also brought it to his attention that the people who have been fighting president Museveni have been disappointed for a very long time with the regime planting people within their ranks to cause confusion and disharmony,” Kyadondo East Member of Parliament posted on his Facebook Page on Monday.
