President Museveni on Friday visited the Speaker Rebecca Kadaga who is hospitalized at Nakasero Hospital.
Kadaga, who was rushed to the facility on Thursday night was said to be in a critical condition.
Details of the meeting are still scanty, with Don Wanyama, the senior presidential press secretary, saying ‘it was private.’
The 62-year-old Kamuli District Woman MP, had just returned from New York where she attended the 63rd session of the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations headquarters when she complained of fatigue -related illness.
“The Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon. Rebecca Kadaga is currently being managed by doctors at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala over fatigue-related illness. She was admitted o Thursday soon after her return from a hectic working tour of Morocco and the United States of America,” Her Principal Press Secretary, Sam Obbo said in a statement circulated after the President’s visit.
“Due to the hectic work schedule, fatigue and jetlag, she has had to be admitted to hospital. We hope her privacy will be respected during this period. We wish her speedy recovery.”
