Musician Topic Kasente of Team No Sleep was recently put on the spot by a number of top Deejays in the city for one of his songs Nyumilwa that came out a few weeks back for not being original.
From the deejays analysis and comparison the Nyumilwa song is a copy and wash from the song Dura by Daddy Yankee which was released at the beginning of the year something Topic denied.
Topic Kasente in response said he already had his idea in plan even before Dura by Daddy Yankee was released and he added that as musicians they always borrow ideas from other artistes which he wouldn’t really call copying per say but just picking of an idea.
However the two songs really sound and flow in a similar way only the languages used being the major difference which left us wondering if Topic is really being honest in his assertions.
Topic also has other singles like Tonzoleya and Layila but is yet to break into the big league of Ugandan artistes.
