In Uganda there have been so many high profiled court cases. Some have managed to pass while others are still pending.
When we talk about the lawyers who have master the art of dealing with such cases, Counsel Wameli Anthony Yeboah is one of the ideal men who have proved that they indeed know the essence of their profession.
Wameli as an extra ordinary lawyer has swept most of the complicated cases in the city by storm.
We had a one on one with him and he managed to reveal the secret behind his success;
Qn; How do you manage to get clients for high profiled cases?
Mr. Wameli: 11 years down the road is not a small journey. People now know me due to the fact that I have been in the system for long not forgetting the experience I have ascertained in the course.
Qn: What is the secret behind your success?
Mr. Wameli: I have been in the field for long which explains my experience and in 2009 I was a Grade One Magistrate at Nakasongola; This gave me vast knowledge to deal with most of the cases however complicated it maybe.
Qn: what are some of the cases you have managed to stand in?
Mr. Wameli: I have won the case of Fr. Jacinto kibuuka who was about to be arrested. I have also helped my colleagues the Muslims who are being accused of murdering former police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi and so far most of them are out on bail. I was also behind the Pastor Aloysius Bugingo’s Bible burning case among others.
Qn: Is it true that you are a pastor?
Mr. Wameli: True. I’m the lead Pastor at Ebenezer faith ministries which is located in Kyebando.
Qn: Then how did you feel to stand in the case of a fellow Pastor?
Mr. Wameli: law is law and church is church. With law I managed to put a halt on the abuse of worshipping objects. Apparently, Bugingo can no longer stand and say he is going to burn even a single Bible.
Qn: what is your final appeal to the people who are still struggling with pending court cases?
Mr. Wameli: Before getting a representative in your case first make sure that he/she is experienced and knows what to do. This will help you to get a fair judgment. I also urged people to keep calm and wait for the court’s decision.
Qn: how about the Judges, Any advice?
Mr. Wameli: Judges must know that high profiled cases need much time before making the final verdict.
