Few weeks ago, it was reported that Famine had hit Karamoja sub-region region, generally affecting areas of Napak, Kotido, Kaabong and Moroto.
The Government, individuals and different organizations have come out to rescue of people in Karamoja by providing food stuffs to help feed different families.
The organisers of Miss Tourism have also announced that this weekend, they will not only continue with their regional unveiling of contestants but will also use the same platform to fundraise for the hunger stricken people of Karamoja.
The Fundraising and unveiling event will take place this Saturday at Riders Lounge located on Acacia Avenue.
According to the organisers of the show, 10% of the total sales from the unveiling event will go towards the Karamoja Hunger Relief.
At the event, the organisers will unveil the Beauty Queens that will be auditioned to choose one tourism queen who will represent Karamoja at the grand finale event where different queens will represent different regions with the aim of vying for the crown of Miss Tourism Uganda 2022/23.
