Kabale District Authorities, have today commissioned construction works for a twin staff house and works to extend Ikamiro gravity water flow scheme at Kasheregyenyi Health Centre III in Kamuganguzi Sub County.

According to the acting Kabale District Health Officer, Alfred Besigensi, the construction works for a twin staff house, are expected to cost 150 million shillings.

The Kabale District water officer, Patience Aharinta, also noted that the works to extend Ikamiro gravity flow to the health centre, are expected to cost 90million shillings. The funds for the two projects have been got from the ministries of Health and Water and Environment respectively.

The construction of the twin staff house will be undertaken by Famdeck technical services limited while the extension of water from Ikamiro gravity flow scheme too will be done by DACOS construction Limited and works are expected to be complete in a period of three months.
Besingensi expressed optimism that once the twin staff house is complete, the problem of lack of accommodation and late coming by health workers at the facility, will be over.

The Kabale Resident District Commissioner, Godfrey Nyakahuma, who presided over the commissioning of the two projects, asked the local leaders to supervise works at both sites and report any cases of shoddy work so that the culprits are apprehended and dealt with accordingly.

Nyakahuma noted that the contractor, who was awarded a contract for the twin- staff house, was recently implicated in executing shoddy works on the administration blocks for Kibuga and Kahungye sub counties.

The Kabale District Vice Chairperson, Miria Akankwasa Tugume, who represented the district Chairperson, Nelson Nshangabasheija, implored the two contractors to consider giving jobs to residents neighboring the facility, so as to ensure proper coordination and good working relationship for smooth running of the project.
