Betting industry: A world that has become complex

Outrights, moneyline, handicaps, over/under, odd/even, correct score, both teams to score, corner kicks, yellow cards, sent offs, home team, away team, special bets…. The list could go on and on as there are more than 100 possibilities. Honestly, it is question worthy, how can the punters manage to sort it all out and make a decision on where to place their wagers. How can they be confident that they made the right choice without the assistance of special online betting tools in additional to the rest of the services at their disposal.

Trying to find bets of value

Typically, when people want to decide about their bets, the novice and the standard bettors rely on their gut instinct and their luck. Usually, they do not care about complicated options. It’s those who want to make the most of it and the professionals, that need more and more before making a choice. First, they do their research based on a long questionnaire about the circumstances surrounding an event. Then, they take a look into other aspects that can have an effect, like the weather or even the referees.

However, none of the above can tell them if the odds for one market can offer them a higher payout than the odds of another market that offers an equivalent bet. And it definitely cannot help them to decide which of the handicap choices would make for a higher yield. Without an Asian Handicap calculator, it would be difficult to extrapolate the results of a quarter handicap, or a three-quarter one, especially with all the parts involved.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg

Imagine an arber trying to increase the return of their investment. They would have to do all the mathematics involved manually. And that always includes the risk of making a mistake. Of course, this would make an arbitrage calculator an invaluable tool for them to use. Similarly, using an online software to provide payouts for combination bets, accumulators, or even a simple odds format conversion, has become a necessity.

Especially when it comes to multiple bets, it has become necessary for the best European and Asian bookmakers to offer some sort of a «bet builder» software to assist their clients into making a choice. Ostensibly, this was the result of their attempt to maintain or even increase the number of their customers. Nevertheless, it’s a step that shows by itself the complexity of today’s betting industry.

Worse in the future? Most likely!

Perhaps the word «worse» is incorrect. The fact is that the demand is ever growing. Inevitably, more markets will be added to the tally. Also inevitably, it will cause more questions. Consequently, it is more than likely that there will be even more advanced apps online to address the issue. And not on single calculators as it is now. We should be expecting bundled software to be released with the ability to be used in multiple markets.
