President Yoweri Museveni has accepted the invitation to officiate as Chief Guest at the grand opening of a three-storied workshop building and launch of the musical album at Excel Vocational Training Centre Bombo on Saturday, 10th August at the school’s 18th-anniversary celebrations.

Ms Gloria Asio Omaswa, the Principal Private Secretary to His Excellency the President confirmed Museveni’s attendance to the grand event which will be held at Kalule playgrounds, just a few meters from the main campus in Kalule Town, Bombo in Luwero District.

“Reference is made to your letter dated 1st July 2024, inviting H.E. the President as Chief Guest at the Grand Opening of your Three-storeyed Building and launch of your School Album. This is to inform you that H.E. the President is scheduled to officiate at the grand opening of your building on the 10th of August, 2024, at Kalule Bombo, Luwero,” Ms Omaswa wrote in the letter addressed to Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo SPA/ PA at ONC.

“The purpose of this letter, therefore, is to communicate this information to you,” the letter also copied to to Head Protocol SPA/Literary Affairs and Institute Director Mr. Mwanje Shafiq adds.

Following the President’s confirmation, Director Mwanje on Wednesday convened a press conference at Excel Vocational Training Centre where he told journalists that the multimillion YMK Block is named after him in honour of the achievements under the NRA where he was the frontline commander in rescuing this country.

“The President will be with us to commission the new building named after him to appreciate what he did to rescue this country Uganda. This will be a remembrance for future generations to know who saved this country Uganda,” Mr Mwanje said on Wednesday afternoon.

“We will also launch the historical NRA musical album made by the students in honour of the President for his efforts to rescue this country. He will after deliver a powerful message of wealth creation to the Luwero people,” he added, before rallying the bazzukulu to turn up in big numbers and fill up the Kalule playground.

”Our success is highly attributed to the love and support we have got from the people of Luwero, so it will be unfair if we celebrate our achievements alone without our people. Therefore, I kindly invite everyone to come and celebrate with us and with our President who will be our chief guest.”

Mr Mwanje, who is also the NRM Chairperson for Bukomansimbi District was full of praise for the Office of the National Chairman’s Hajat Hadijah Namyalo aka Chief Muzzukulu for working tirelessly to see the President accept to attend the event as a Chief Guest.

“Most of the songs therein the album rotate around the President’s journey right from the times of NRA to date, and how the stability he fought for has shaped the development of our country,” added the Principal.
