To strengthen youth involvement in the fight against corruption, the Karamoja Anti-Corruption Coalition (KACC) has expanded its training programs across the Karamoja sub-region. On 25th September 2025, KACC trained 25 youth in Nakapiripirit District during a two-day session held at Evening treat Hall.
The training was officially opened by the Assistant RDC of Nakapiripirit, Mr. John Lonyee, who commended KACC for sensitizing young people on corruption.
He encouraged the youth to stay organized in order to benefit from the Parish Development Model (PDM) and urged them to consistently monitor key sectors such as roads, health, and PDM projects. He further advised them to share findings with the RDC’s office to strengthen service delivery in Nakapiripirit.
During the training, Ms. Amina Lowakori, KACC’s Integrity Officer, emphasized that the program will continue to instill values of integrity and ethics among the youth of Karamoja. Ms. Sophia Lomongin, Contract Monitoring Officer, highlighted the importance of using digital tools such as the Citizen Feedback Platform (CFP) and the Contract Monitoring System (CMS) to enhance accountability.
KACC currently works with more than 40 community monitors across the sub-region who track government projects to ensure value for money and curb corruption.
Dr. Ayub Mukisa, the Executive Director of KACC, thanked the RDC for clarifying issues surrounding PDM, noting that many youths had raised concerns about exclusion from the program.
