On Monday, September 30, 2024, the FEDERATION OF ALL UGANDA MIGRANT WORKERS ASSOCIATIONS (FAUMWA) was launched as the umbrella body for all Ugandan Migrant Workers, Ugandan Migrant Workers’ associations, organizations, and communities. It is the unified leadership and representative body for all Ugandan Migrant Workers and destined to promote their rights and responsibilities, collaborate with all Migration Stakeholders, promote the monitoring of Ugandan Migrant Workers with a unified database and call center, promote anti-human trafficking efforts, and conduct research and dissemination of information regarding migration.
This includes promotion of community re-integration of Ugandan Migrant Workers, enhanced justice for Ugandan Migrant Workers, capacity building of Ugandan Migrant Workers, their associations, organizations and communities to promote safe labor Migration, empowering Ugandan Migrant Workers with economic skills for self-sufficiency, orientation and training of Ugandan Migrant Workers with knowledge and skills for working and staying in the host states
