The Resident City Commissioner of Hoima, Mugabi Badru on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Catholic Bishop of Hoima Diocese, the Right Reverend Vincent kirabo at his office in Bujumbura, Hoima city.

The Mr Mugabi urged the Catholic leadership to embrace government programs that are geared to improve household incomes and fight poverty among Ugandans.

To achieve the goals of the programs like Emyooga, Industrial hubs among others, the RCC tasked the Catholic leadership to mobilize believers and other people of God to wholeheartedly embrace them.

On his part, Bishop Kirabo thanked President Yoweri Museveni for appointing young, energetic and Vibrant RCCs/RDCs and their deputies. He said he strongly believes that this team will amplify government development programs for the betterment of the country.

“Young, energetic and vibrant people are the way to go because they have been an outcry from young people that they are not given opportunities to work on sensitive and responsible assignments and I want to thank the President for preparing the young people to take up big tasks which will shape the country’s leadership in future,”Bishop Kirabo noted.

The cleric further promised to work together with government and mobilise the Christians towards poverty alleviation programs.

Last Month, President Museveni reshuffled and appointed new RDCs/RCCs and their deputies.
