New Serere Deputy Resident District Commissioner-RDC Gabriel Etesot has warned that government official who will not execute their duties in implementing government programs shall be dealt with accordingly.
Etesot made the warning on Thursday as he kicked off his tour of duty in Serere.
He was handed the instruments of power by the Serere district security officials in a function that was witnessed by the district NRM Party boss.
In his brief ‘acceptence’ speech to the Serere people, Etesot thanked the appointing authority (President Yoweri Museveni) for identifying and entrusting him with such a huge task – to which he has vowed to expedite with selfless vigour.
The tough talking NRM die-hard also hinted on his plans on the fight against corruption where he sent a chilling signal to the ‘corrupt’ to immediately desist from it and surrender before he (Etesot) comes for them.
“The President has dispatched me here. I have come and my main target is to work with my partner authorities here to identify and annihilate corruption and the corrupt out of Serere. Your place of abode with immediate effect will be Luzira,” Etesot coughed.
He also pledged to work with opposition and to woo them to add numbers to their ruling party NRM.
“We shall all together promote the President’s initiatives like the emyooga, Parish Development Model, Unity and Harmony with all the technical heads,” Etesot said.
He thanked the already established government structures as a winning team.
The ceremony was graced by the DPC Serere, Mr Brighton Ahimbisamukama, the DISO, the NRM district boss, Mr Olobo Michael and the technical staff of Serere district.
The new RDC Ms Harriet Nakamya was not present at the event.
