Controversial Kasambya County Member of Parliament David Kabanda has been told off by the Minister for Presidency Milly Babirye Babalanda following a sorry tweet in which he accused her ministry of asking bribes to retain Resident District Commissioners (RDCs).
Kabanda, known for making baseless and childish comments on whatever subject that crosses his eyes, on Thursday, came out to represent the discontented RDCs who were dropped in the recent reshuffle.
Minister Babalanda told Kampala news website, Trumpet, that Kabanda and his irk need to present tangible evidence for their accusations to stand – otherwise their posts were hogwash.
“We always believe someone with tangible proof and evidence,” Mrs Babalanda said in a WhatsApp text to TrumpetNews.
She went ahead to add that the MP was being used by mafia.
“He is being used by NRM Mafias. (PHD’s) pull her down,” she added.
The Ministry of the Presidency headed by Babalanda, known for its zero tolerance for corruption, released a list of new RDCs and their Deputies in which some were retained and many dropped.
The frustration of dropped officials has been poured on different social media platforms.
Mr Kabanda, a youthful MP went on to attack officials in Babalanda’s Ministry who he accused of demanding for ugx20 million to be reappointed.
“It’s very unfortunate that many RDC’S were dropped because they couldn’t afford hefty bribes asked by officials in the ministry of Presidency under Milly Babalanda. Understand it was required for each to pay 20M to retain their positions. SAD!” he tweeted.
