RUKUNGIRI: A 40 year old woman has been arrested for allegedly cutting off the penis of her husband.
The suspect Milly Kobusingye was arrested on Thursday afternoon in Kabale town where she was hiding.
Preliminary investigations indicate that on Wednesday night, the victim Benon Tugumisiriza,45, a business man, resident of Bikurungu town cell, Central Ward, Bikurungu town council in Rukungiri district got involved in domestic quarrel with his Kobusingye over allegations that the victim had married the second wife.
As the victim was sleeping, the suspect (wife to the suspect) decided to cut the private part(Penis) of the husband and took off.
According to the Tugumisiriza, he entered his vehicle and drove up to Nyakibale hospital where he is currently getting treatment from.
Elly Maate,the Kigezi regional police spokesperson confirmed Kobusingye’s arrest.
“The crime scene was visited by the area Police of Bikurungu upon receiving information. Exhibit of a knife with blood stains was recovered in the bed room of the couple.Statements from the children of the couples were recorded,” Maate said.
“According to information on ground, the couple has been having domestic fights for quite some time in relation to victim marrying second wife though not reported to any local authority.”
Kobusingye is currently being interrogated at Rukungiri CPS and upon completion she will be arraigned before court of law.
