The appointment of Robinah Nabbanja as Prime Minister of Uganda has sparked mixed reactions from a section of the general public who think it was a wrong choice by President Yoweri Museveni.

Nabbanja, a former state minister of Health for general duties was appointed to the new position on Tuesday night as Museveni released a list of his new cabinet members.

One of the people who are not satisfied with Nabbanja’s appointment is Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago who said, “With all due respect, you cannot choose Hon Robinah Nabbanja to lead government business, that’s rewarding mediocrity. How does Rebecca Kadaga (1st Deputy Prime Minister) be answerable to Nabbanja?”

“At least not Nabbanja, there are much more smarter and intelligent women if at all Museveni wanted to please women,” a one Deborah Haboya also said.

However, former Aruu County MP Odongo Otto thinks otherwise about Nabbanja’s capability.

Otto says the Kakumiro District Woman MP is the best choice for the job.

” Make no mistake the choice of Hon.Nabbanja as Premier is no joke.Acting more often as a “semi literate village belle” Hon.Nabanja is a woman of action she will even remove food from a ministers mouth if one is eating during work hours. Finally the ministers have got a watchwoman,” Otto tweeted on Wednesday.
