Former NBS/NTV journalist Dean Lubowa Saava has been arrested over offensive communication, cyber harassment, and blackmail, according to Police CID Spokesperson, Charles Twiine. This is not the first time though.

In 2018, Saava was arrested for obtaining money by false pretence and human trafficking after 37 complaints against his ‘company’ Global Skills International, were lodged at the police. It was said he conned unsuspecting people of sh126 million and sent them to the Middle East where they found no jobs but sex trade.

This week, he was arrested after airing video on his youtube channel attacking billionaire Sudhir Ruparelia family. Saava has been airing series of stories on his YouTube channel implicating several prominent people in crimes he cannot substantiate – some including Dr HIlderman, came out to question his intentions after the journalist accused him of taking bribes from NRM bosses.

In some of the stories before, Saava accused a-one Capt Kasami and singer Eddy Kenzo of recruiting young people into homosexuality. He also accused several other National Unity Party MPs of taking bribes from NRM – in what many people say he didn’t show any proof but empty allegations.

Recently, he took on city businessman Balaam Barugahara who he accused of grabbing Namasagali school’s land. Before the dust came down, he went for billionaire Sudhir Ruparelia’s family.

Complaints about Saava’s brand of journalism have forced him out of several media houses he has worked for in the past. He has worked for a string of media houses but somehow, there has not lasted in one place for long. Among media houses, he worked for as a reporter, including CBS FM, NTV, NBS, BBS – where he has left for one reason or the other.

After Saava’s arrest, Balaam said the journalist will have to prove his blackmail against him and other people.

“Dean Lubowa Sava kawedemu the time is now to Prove your blackmail claims against God’s good people. Prove to the world your blackmail, extortion claims of the People like Kasami, billionaire Dr Sudhir, Balaam and Afande Mugenyi,” he noted in a Facebook post.

“Failure the law should Stand Blacking God’s People for purposes of extorting others for monetary claims should Stop in this modern error younger People lets work hard other than looking for easy Money at all times !!!.”
