The Tax payers’ team has won the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) trophy after winning a charity match against the tax body.
Dubbed ‘The Tax Derby 2019’, the match took place on Friday at Legends Sports Ground, Lugogo.
The tax payers’ team was led by Dr Sudhir Ruparelia while URA Commissioner General captained her side.
The match ended in penalties with the tax payers taking over the day.
Proceeds from the match are going to be donated to Bwama Lakeside Community Children, Kabale.
Dr Sudhir is one of the most complying citizens when it comes to paying taxes.
Recently, URA issued a list of top rental income taxpayers and the Ruparelia Group chairman and his Meera Investment Limited scored the highest, proving the tycoon is the country’s most dominant landlord.
