Uganda Revenue Authority has intercepted two unnamed men who were being smuggled into Uganda from Kenya through cargo trucks.According to a press brief issued by URA on Friday, a truck with Kenyan registration number plate KCT 230T passed through a scanner at Busia Customs One Stop Border Post.
“On scanning the truck, the image showed empty wooden boxes packed in the truck. But among these boxes were two human beings concealed within,” the stamen says.
According to URA officials, the employee manning the scanning machine, then proceeded to the truck with policemen and had the truck opened.These culprits/suspects, now held at URA Headquarters Nakawa, will be handed over to ISO and Immigration.
