Hajj Bashir Kazibwe is one of the fastest rising political show hosts on Ugandan television today.

And since Sunday afternoon, his name has been making social media rounds having been “poisoned” and “fainted” while in studio at around 3pm. He was hosting The Eagle show.

Some people were quick to question if Kazibwe could have eaten anything while fasting while others castigated him saying it was a prank to attract attention to himself.

This website however has spoken to people who were on the show Kazibwe was hosting, The Eagle, and a number of his colleagues who set the record straight, although they were not comfortable being quoted.

We now understand that Kazibwe who was admitted at International Hospital, was not poisoned as earlier alleged. The true account of the story is that Hajj Kazibwe, also the president of Uganda Journalists Association (UJA), has been feeling unwell for the last couple of days and he was on medication. However, Kazibwe, also a staunch Muslim, has been observing the month of fasting as prescribed by his faith.

At the same time, he was going about his duties, including doing a radio show, and three other shows on television.

The body gave way, and he felt drowsy while on the show, forcing him to take a break. He was rushed to IHK where he received medical support and his health is stable.
