Authorities in Kabale district have expressed concerns over the increasing cases of child neglect in the district.

Monica Muhumuza, the Kabale district Senior Probation Officer said on Monday said her office has filed 25 cases of child abandonment in the last three months.

Muhumuza said  the increasing child neglect cases are as a result of alcoholic parents in most families who have given little or no time to their responsibilities as family leaders.

Bridget Asinga, the Kabale District Vice Chairperson commenting on the matter blamed the increasing vice to parents who fail to fulfill their responsibilities as a result of  domestic violence.
