Rapper Gibson Wabuyu, commonly known as Gravity Omutujju would be no more had he not ‘twisted his body’ to dodge the numerous bullets fired at his car and crew by an errant security guard in Mityana.

The singer was on his way to Kassanda District for a show when the guard at LK Filling station shot his car.

“Gravity Omutujju twisted his body to dodge the bullets so he didn’t sustain serious injuries. The bullets only injured the exterior of his abdomen,” Mityana Municipality MP Zaake Francis Butebi posted on his timeline on Thursday.

“In the Hospital, he is improving and already out of danger.”

According to a police statement, James Mwange, the official DJ of Omutujju,  said they were heading for a concert at Rwebutiti, Bukuya Town Council in Kassanda District.

When they reached Bukuya, they had supper, and later went to LK Filling station to fuel their car.

“As the Vehicle was filling, Omutujju was communicating to Sendagire who was hosting us for the concert, to come pick us and lead us to Rwebutiti were the concert was,” Mwange noted.

They then asked one of the security guards to allow them park as they wait, which he accepted.

But later another security guard, identified as Amos Muhewa by the police, didn’t like the idea, went into an argument with them and then started shooting at Omutujju’s crew.

That’s when two bullets glazed Omutujju’s stomach.

Omutujju was later rushed to Blue star clinic in Bukuya for first aid, and driven to Rubaga Hospital, Kampala for further treatment, courtesy of MP Zaake who called an ambulance.

The security guard is currently held at Bukuya Police Station as police is still investigating the circumstances that led to this shooting.

“We wish him a quick recovery,” Zaake said.
