Standard Chartered bank disowns bank statement purportedly belonging to its client

Standard Chartered has said the statement making rounds that a bank statement purporting to belong Edith Kasekende did not originate from their offices.

Edith is Bank of Uganda deputy governor’s Louis Kasekendes wife.

According to the bank’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Albert Satson in a press statement on Monday, saying the bank has strong and robust structures that is designed to protect the interests of their customers.

The said statement shared on  Whatsapp groups, facebook, twitter to mention but a few.

“We would like to categorically state that the purported statement is fictitious and does not reflect the account of our customer, ” added Satson

He went ahead to explain that for over 105 years, the bank has been steadfast in doing ethical business and remains committed to upholding both local and international policies and laws including customer data confidentiality.
