Kampala Affairs minister Beti Kamya has warned Lord Mayor against his ‘uncanny’ behavior.
This follows remarks made by mayor Erias Lukwago after Executive Director Jennifer Musisi made her resignation public on October 15.
“I want to warn the lord Mayor of Kampala to stop his intimidating massages towards Kampala Capital City Authority workers. I also want to remind him that despite Musisi’s resignation, she is still the Executive Director of KCCA until December,” said Kamya, emphasising that Lukwago’s celebrations are too early.
Kamya’s missive was prompted by a press conference Lukwago called on October 16 at City Hall in which he celebrated Musisi’s resignation and also cautioned all KCCA workers who work with Musisi.
“I want to warn every KCCA worker that fire is coming if you know your recruitment was not straight. I beg you to go with Musisi because we shall disqualify you,” warned Lukwago.
In regard to the above, Kamya said all KCCA workers have their qualification papers and they were appointed systematically with authenticity.
Kamya also warned vendors off the streets. Most of them had returned since Musisi’s resignation became public.
“I want to ask peacefully that all city street vendors, who have come back to street to get off streets.”
