The Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Ramathan Mubajje has flagged off Ugandans Pilgrims to mecca on the holy journey to fulfill the fifth pillar of Islam today monday 13th 08 2018 at Entebbe international airport with the call to pray for peace of the nation and unity among muslims in Uganda as well as Muslims countries to stop bloodshed and conflicts.
While presiding over Pilgrims at Entebbe airport H. E expressed gratitude towards Muslims who have sacrificed their money and decided to fulfill this fifth pillar that it will strengthen their believe and faith in Islam.
This occassion was also graced by His Excellency the Ambassador of Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Uganda Dr Abdallah bin Fahad al Kahtan, H.E The Deputy Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Abdallah Semambo, UMSC Sec Gen Haj Ramathan Mugalu and members of Federation of Hijja and Umrah bureau of Uganda.
Approximately 800 pilgrims will travel for the holy journey this year and today about 500 pilgrims traveled and the last batch of Pilgrims will travel on Wednesday according to the Federation of Hijja bureau of Uganda.
Team of Pilgrims from UMSC is led by Hon Secretary for Hijja and Umra Sheikh Juma Ali Shewiyo who urged pilgrims to focus on the intended aims of performing Hijja.
