Human Rights Network Uganda (HRNJ) has called for justice against brutally beaten journalist by students who followed command of their teacher a one Akena.

Lead by HRNJ boss Robert Sempala, the team managed to move to Wakiso police station to follow up the case that was filed after the assault.

According to the statement that was released by Sempala on his social media platforms, they were surprised to reach the police station when nothing had ever been done about the reported case.

“The police at the station seems to be deliberately ignoring the case since no action has taken place ever since the case wasreported” Said Sempala.

He added that It is very sad to see that a school teacher can order students to beat a journalist and he is still outside the cells. We shall ensure that these people are brought to book.

Mutyaba was on Monday 23rd of July beaten severely by students from St Augstine College Wakiso  as he tried to capture a story of a fire that was lighting in the school.

In fight for his dear life, the Askari locked the gate and students badly beat him until he was rescued by another askari who warned them that they could kill him.

Mutyaba,a reporter from Bukedde TV is currently going through severe pain due to the injuries that were caused to him.
