FUFA has confirmed and released the dates for the Super 8 Tournament to be played during the 2018-2019 pre-season period. The three week tournament will run between 1st and 25th August 2018.
The tournament shall comprise of 8 teams as follows;
The top 6 ranked teams from the previous season of the 1st Division League (Uganda Premier League) 2017/18 season.
The Top 2 ranked teams from the previous season of the 2nd Division League (FUFA Big League).
No registration fee is required to participate in this tournament.
In the unlikely event that any of the above teams is unable to participate, priority shall be given to the next ranked team in the 1st Division from the previous season.
Prize Money of the 2018 edition for the Super 8 has been set at UGX 30 million to be shared by all 8 clubs with the winning team taking UGX 10,000,000 (ten million) and Runner up UGX 5,000,000 (Five million).
Clubs are required to register for the tournament by Thursday 12th July 2018 and their squad by Friday 20th July 2018 with the FUFA Competitions Department.
The format of play is a single-tie knockout tournament. No registration fee is required.
