NRM National Vice Chairperson in charge of the Eastern Region Mike Mukula has called upon the people of Bugiri Municipality to elect honest and upright leaders who will rhyme well with the government in power in order to benefit their electorates.
Mukula who was speaking at a campaign rally in Bugiri this Saturday reminded the voters that as much as service delivery was a function of the government, constituencies need potential leaders who can lobby and coordinate services.
He described the party flag bearer John Francis Oketcho as being honest and having the constituency at heart.
Oketcho is a grounded candidate whose NGO operated widely in Bugiri and other districts of Busoga.
He said Oketcho would easily work with the government and the President to benefit the newly created Bugiri Municipality.
Mukula addressed a mammoth gathering that expressed willingness to vote NRM at all levels. He described the opposition candidates as being divided and selfish, warning that voting them would mean transferring such divisions further into the population.
Bugiri like six other new Municipalities will have their elections on July 19.
