Police in Rukiga District is investigating circumstances under which a male adult was killed by a mob.
The deceased has been identified as Nazarius Tukamushaba of Katunga cell, Ruyonza parish .Nyarushanje sub county Rukungiri district.
According to police, Tukamusha was lynched on Friday at around 3pm at Nyakariba cell, Kafunjo parish, Kasambya sub county, Rukiga district after he was allegedly caught red handed by residents stealing a pig belonging to Izidoro of same address.
He was beaten to death and burnt using fire wood beyond recognition.
The Kigezi region Police spokesperson Elly Maate says that police visited the scene of crime and found when relatives had taken his remaining parts home.
Maate adds that arrangements for postmortem are being made as inquiries continue. This case is registered at Kasambya police post file number SD 06/01/06/2018.
