Minister Mbayo cautions youth on overseas jobs

The Minister for Presidency Esther Mbayo on Sunday advised the youth to be cautious when searching for jobs in the foreign countries.

Mbayo said its unfortunate many people have been lured into foreign jobs and have ended up being subjected to different types of torture by their employers.

“There is no ‘peace’ in some of those countries you are being lured to go to compared to the opportunities in your country, Uganda” Minister Mbayo said

Mbayo was opening a two months intensive vocational and skills training for the unemployed rural young women and girls.

This initiative was started by the minister for general duties, Mary Karooro Okurut and the training targets to equip about 800 young women and girls.

Mbayo said some people who got jobs in foreign countries are crying to return back, after spending lots of money on the process of getting there.

She added the t they live in misery, saying the “from the little salaries they earn, they feed themselves and end up with no savings.”

“Never think about leaving your country, because Uganda is endowed with abundant resources” she said.

This function was at Katungu Mothers union centre in Bushenyi town, Bushenyi district.
