MTN Uganda has today launched a promotion to encourage customers to use MTN Mobile Money to load airtime and buy voice or data bundles. The promotion, MoMo Nyabo – resonating with the local exclamation for excitement – will have 1,000 daily winners of MTN Mobile Money and 50 weekly winners of exciting prizes, including cars, TV’s, school fees and phones.
“MTN Mobile Money usage in Uganda continues to grow and that is why we are encouraging our customers to use the service to load airtime and buy their favorite data or voice bundle.
MTN Mobile Money has evolved from just being a platform for sending and receiving money to enabling payments. What we want our customers to adopt is that you don’t need scratch cards to load airtime,” said Annie Bilenge Tabura, the General Manager, Sales and Distribution at MTN Uganda.
For customers to be eligible to win these exciting “MoMo Nyabo” prizes, all they have to do is to load 500/- or more using MTN Mobile Money (MTN MoMo) by dialing *165*2#. With MTN MoMo you can buy directly a voice bundle or a data bundle. Customers will then automatically enter into the daily and weekly draws to win exciting prizes.
“We want as many of our customers to have the opportunity to win and that is why we have daily and weekly winners. Everybody has a chance to get more when they use their MTN Mobile Money to load airtime or buy bundles,” Tabura adds.
The promotion starts today, Monday 14th May and will end Sunday 15th July 2018.
Daily, 1,000 customers will win Shs20,000 sent directly to their MTN Mobile Money accounts.
Weekly, customers stand a chance to win 50 prizes including:
  1. 3 Toyota Premios every week (A total of 24 Premios for the 8 weeks)
  2. 7 Samsung TV’s every week (A total of 56 for the 8 weeks)
  3. Shs500,000 school fees for 10 winners every week (Shs80m for the 8 weeks)
  4. 30 Ka-Fit smartphones every week (240 Ka-Fit smartphones for 8 weeks)
The TV shows conducting the draws will be aired daily on Bukedde TV and NBS TV.
