The president for the Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) Mr. Moses Muhangi has proved his opponents that the federation can still run its activities despite the fact that they had frozen their bank accounts.

While flagging off the Uganda’s junior boxing team for the AFB youth championships that will take place in Casablanca Morocco, Muhangi revealed that they are less affected by the frozen accounts.

“They froze our account. But see how we look.” boasted Muhangi.

Muhangi added that irrespective of the battles that are going on within the federation, he is still determined to take boxing to another level.

“I did not come to eat from boxing. But I came because I love the game. I also note that we shall squeeze our pockets and see that we make history in the boxing fraternity.” he said.

Muhangi this time managed to buy new track suits for all the players including coaches as well as ring boots, gloves and jersey.

The function was also embraced by the UBF Patron Godfrey Nyakaana who asked the players to put in all they can to safeguard their future.

Bronze Medalist Juma Miiro advised the young stars to respect their coaches in order to achieve better results.

Meanwhile, Muhangi fulfilled his promise and gave Miiro Shs1, 000, 000 as a token for bringing Uganda bronze medal.

It should be noted that the UBF vice president Fred Kavuma and former president Kenneth Gimugu blocked all the old accounts of the federation. But to their surprise, Muhangi has managed to pay all the money that the international body AIBA needs to count Uganda as its member.

Six junior boxers shall represent Uganda with one coach and a few team officials including the head of delegation Muhangi.

Below are the boxers to represent Uganda;
Onen Jaffer
Mazda Bunya Muhammad
Mutyaba Collins
Musoke Reagan
Odouch John Fisher and
Ukasha Matovu
