Uganda’s Ladies Cricket team in Harare for ICC women’s world T20 qualifier

The Uganda ladies are in for a tour to Zimbabwe with experienced, proud and competitive minds as they prepare to represent Uganda in the International Cricket Council women’s world twenty 20 qualifier.

Led by the team captain Awino Kevin, sixteen girls arrived safely in Zimbabwe with a tough fixture ahead of them.

The players include Awino Kevin(Captain), Janet Mbabazi, Getrude CCandiru,Racheal Ntono, Consy Aweko, Carol Namugenyi, Franklyn Najjumba, Saidat Kemigisha,Mary Nalule, Titah Musamali, Stephanie Nampiima, Immy Nakisuyi, Joyce Mary Apio,Prico Nakitende,Evelyn Anyipo and Esther Iloku.

The team was flagged off by the Assistant General Secretary for National council of Sports (NCS) Mr David Katende who applauded the federation for supporting the female players.

The team plays tomorrow at OH A Field against hosts Zimbabwe in the morning and then Namibia in the afternoon
On Wednesday Uganda shall play against Zimbabwe in the morning and then Tanzania in the afternoon.

Thursday at Takashinga, the third and fourth placement games shall be played in the morning and then finals in the afternoon.
