Daniel Kiyega the founder and CEO of Esom School of Music was one of the big winners at the recently held Pakasa awards for 2017 in Kampala.

Kiyega stood out among the hundreds of nominated entrepreneurs for the consistent growth of his music school which in just 10 years has moved from having a single student to having close to 300 students enrolled there.

They also have an alumni membership of over 500 students at the moment making it a force in the local music industry.

The students offer various courses ranging from vocal training, key board, piano, deejaying, sound engineering, guitar and music production to mention but a few and these various courses have enabled his school become one of the most recognised music schools in the country and beyond.

Thanks to the consistent growth in enrollment and revenue, the improving management and the uniqueness of the institution, Kiyega was able to land himslef a slot as one of the most outstanding young entrepreneurs in Uganda for 2017 although he missed the main award by a whisker coming in as one of the runners up.

Speaking to the media after picking his runner’s up certificate and accolade, kiyega promised to put in more effort and educate more talent in the music industry to improve professionalism in the local industry so that it can match international standards.

Among the measures that are being taken to make this a reality is the introduction of group lessons, sunday classes for the busy students during the week and a more flexible time table to accomodate students from different back grounds.

A website http://esom-music.com/ has also been put up where prospective students can find out more about what the school has on offer.
