Court of Appeal has today thrown NRM’s Winnie Matsiko out parliament.
Justices Paul Mugambe and Justice Owiny Dolo rendered Matsiko’s seat as Rukungiri Woman MP invalid and have now ordered for a by election.
Matsiko has been battling a petition filed by her rival, Forum for Democratic Change (FDC)’s Betty Bamukwasa Muzanira, who, having lost the Rukungiri woman MP seat in February 2016, sought for a vote recount.
Now, FDC national mobilizer Ingrid Turinawe is up to the moon following the development.
She wrote on her facebook page; ‘Bye election in Rukungiri. We have won the case in court of appeal. Rukungiri woman MP seat vacant. Costs rewarded.#tubalemese’
