The Executive Director for Civil Society Budget Advocacy Group (CSBAG) Mr Julius Mukunda has promised to keep fighting for Ugandans in spite of the problems that civil societies are facing.
Mukunda was today at a CSO annual budget performance monitoring report for the Financial Year 2016/17 at Golf course hotel Kampala.
Mukunda expressed the problems that CSOs go through in doing budget monitoring.
“We receive threats after exposing dirty work but we shall keep fighting.” Noted Mukunda.
He added that with the work that CSOs do, people like teachers who used to go for work late,while at times drunk have reduced.
He however pointed out that access to service centers is still a problem especially in areas of Kabale where roads are still poor.
Mutambuzi Wycliff from Kanungu District tabled a problem of government officials who are not educated enough in doing budget monitoring.
“There is no way a primary two chap can monitor a graduate. Impossible.” Said Mutambuzi
On this note he advised government to revise some of the policies that govern recruiting its district officials in order to curb this problem.
