Early this year, the general public was awash by the shocking disclosure from a whistleblower who accused Kibuli Secondary School Head teacher Hajj Ali Mugagga of sexually abusing his female students.
After the development, Mugagga was sent on a forced leave and an investigations committee was instigated by the school’s old students under their body Kibuli Old Students’ Association (KOSA).
Today, an investigation into the matters has confirmed that there was unethical behavior and sexual abuse at the school by the head teacher.
According to the committee report, there was a number of staff at the school that practiced sexual abuse and held a number of female students as prey especially those from poor backgrounds.
The committee called for an appropriate punishment of the Mugagga and other teachers who are implicated in the erroneous acts.
It also recommended that the Board of Governors and Top School Management adapt a sexual abuse and misconduct prevention policy in which all teachers, support staff, contractors and volunteers should sign.
