Today the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) chairperson Prof.Mary Okwakol has handed over the 2017 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results to State Minister for Higher Education, JC Muyingo at the Prime Minister’s Office in Kampala.
During the event, Prof Okwakol revealed that girls performed better in English while the boys performed better in all other entry subjects.
She further noted that the board has withheld results of 4,525 candidates from various examination centers because of examination malpractice.
Meanwhile, according to Dan Odong, the UNEB Executive Secretary, districts with high failure rate include, Bukwo, Bundibugyo, Butaleja, Kween, Pallisa, Kapchorwa, Bulisa, Sironko, Busia, Bududa, and Kasese.
