Godfrey ‘Troy’ Wamala, a prime suspect in the murder of music icon Mowzey Radio has today been charged and remanded to Kigo government Prison.
Troy appeared before Entebbe Chief Magistrate’s Court where he was read murder charges.
Troy handed himself over to police on Sunday and since then he has been detained at Katwe Police Station.
Prosecution states that on January 22, 2018, Troy hit the singer on the head during a brawl at “De bar” in Entebbe.
However, Chief Magistrate Mary Kaitesi, did not allow him to take plea because the charges against him are capital in nature and can only be tried by the High court.
The suspect was represented by Ladislaus Rwakafunzi, whereas Mowzey Radio was represented by his family’s lawyer, Mudde John Bosco and the state by Julius Muhirwe.
Troy has now been sent on remand until Feb 26, 2018 after the resident state Attorney, Julius Muhiirwe informed court that police investigations are not incomplete.
