Police in Arua yesterday shot two thugs dead in Arua. The thugs had robbed the vehicle in Kireka Kampala and they were taking it to DR Congo.
The incident happened at 0630/c along Arua to Lia border custom road in Adumi sub county, Arua District. Police recovered a Premio Vehicle Number UAR 490 K which the thugs had stollen from Kireka area in Kampala on 07/12/2017 and were attempting to cross the border to DR_Congo.
The two bodies of Matovu Geofrey of Makindye Division in Kampala and his co_driver of Congolese origin whose names are yet to be established were taken to Arua Referral Hospital mortuary as inquiries continue.
In the scuff an old man was hit by astray bullet on the leg but he was rushed to hospital for treatment.
